Position Summary:
Agora Law Group, PLLC is a firm that specializes in intellectual property. As a legal assistant, your general responsibilities will be providing support for legal and administrative processes of the firm. Your duties will mainly include, but is not limited to, maintaining case files, preparing legal documents, managing client communications, and providing support where needed. Onboarding/training will be provided on site.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain docket and electronic patent matter files
- Assist in preparation/filing of patent applications, formal papers (oath/declaration/assignment), responses and other correspondence with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Assist with reporting USPTO correspondence to clients and prepare information disclosure statements
- Perform document production, including crafting, revising and editing documents, and finalizing format and style in compliance with appropriate requirements
- Communicate with clients and legal personnel; Assist attorneys on various tasks; Assist with internal document control processing
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of patent paralegal/legal assistant experience (training will be provided on site)
- Strong proofreading and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe (PDF file)
- Proficiency in Korean or Chinese (reading and writing) highly recommended/preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with Science and Engineering Background preferred
- Previous law firm experience preferred
- Makes efficient use of time, is detail-oriented, and is highly productive
Position Details:
- Part time; Monday-Friday, Morning Time preferred, 15-20 hours/week in person
- $25~$45 / Hour based on qualifications and level of skills ($20-$25 / hour for training period)
